Parking

Main entrance

  • Acess via the Côte du Palais street.
  • There are approximately 15 parking spaces that are reserved for people with reduced mobility and dialysis patients. Parking spaces are managed by a security officer who collects payments.

  • Parking at the Hôtel-Dieu de Québec (SPAQ) : 1, rue de l'Arsenal (entrance via Côte du Palais).

    • A tunnel makes it possible to go to the hospital from the 5th floor of the parking lot.

  • City Hall parking lot (SPAQ) : 2, rue des Jardins (at the corner of Saint-Jean and Fabrique streets).

  • Parking at the Palais Station (Quebec City) : intersection of Côte du Palais and Saint-Paul streets.

  • Chauveau parking : 10, Pierre-Olivier-Chauveau street, via Côte de la Fabrique.

 

Parking meters

  • There are several parking meters located in the surrounding streets that allow visitors to park their vehicles.

  • For the location of the parking meters, consult the Co-Pilot application of the Ville de Québec. This application allows you to find a parking space and pay for your parking space from a distance.


Meals

Cafeteria and restaurant services

Visitors and staffs have access to a cafeteria and snack bar.

Service hours :
  • Lunch : 11:00 AM to 1:45 PM, from Monday to Friday and 11:00 AM to 1:15 PM, on the weekends and holidays.

  • Dinner : 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
  • ​Snack bar : 1:00 AM to 9:30 PM.

 

Two types of menu are offered :
  • À la carte :  a choice of salads, sandwiches, fast food, vegetables and fresh fruits.
  • The meal of the day : this menu is offered at the meal times mentioned above. It can include one or two varieties of hot meals. Dairy products and various desserts complete the meals. Menus are posted at the entrance of the cafeteria.  ​

 

Vending machines 

Vending machines are available throughout the different floors of the hospital.

Prepare your hospital stay

If you have to spend several days at the hospital, here are some tips to help you prepare for your hospitalization.


What you need to bring

 
Documents and papers

For your admission and throughout your stay, make sure you have the following documents in your possession :

  • Valid health insurance card and hospital card.

  • Documentation relating to your personal insurance (if applicable).

  • Forms of salary insurance, unemployment insurance, medical certificate, etc .

  • An up-to-date list of your medications (you can get it from your pharmacist).

  • The contact information of the person who could act as agent, if you could not make decisions.

 

Clothing
  • Pyjamas or jackets (the hospital will provide you with a jacket).

  • Dressing gown.

  • Slippers with rigid soles.

  • Underwear.

 

Toiletries
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste (if you wear a dental prosthesis, bring a container identified with your name).

  • Soap, shampoo, deodorant.

  • Comb or hairbrush.

  • Kleenex.

  • Sanitary napkins.

  • Razor kit.

 

Personal belongings
  • Glasses and case.

  • Compression stockings (low support), breathing apparatus, etc. (if you have been given one).

  • If you are diabetic, do not bring your personal blood glucose meter, we will use those provided by the hospital.

  • Group all your personal belongings in the same luggage identified with your name.

 

Valuable objects
  • IMPORTANT! We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • Avoid bringing valuables and large sums of money with you. If this is not possible, you can leave them in safety deposit boxes at the hospital's security department. Ask your health care provider.
